Friends and neighbors,
I wanted to take the time to thank each and every one of you for making this an amazing first year in office. I hope all of you have had a great holiday season as the new year (and first ANC meeting of 2016) approaches. Thank you for your passion and commitment to making our slice of the District a truly liveable, walkable, and even greater place to live.
Commissioner Deleon’s Moratorium Resolution Unanimously Approved by ANC 5C:
At ANC 5C’s December meeting, Commissioner Deleon’s Resolution for a Moratorium was approved unanimously. This is a huge step forward in making 5C02 more liveable and walkable by requesting an ABRA moratorium on ALL Class C liquor licenses for the next five years. More information on what the moratorium means for you here.
Commissioner Deleon speaks at Hope Charter School:
I was delighted to chat with students at Hope Community Charter School about high school & college life.
DC Fire & EMS installs free smoke detectors
Fires are unfortunately more common during the holiday season. This is a great opportunity to confirm that your smoke detectors are working properly. The DC Fire and EMS Department installs smoke detectors free of charge to residents, simply call 311 or request one online by clicking HERE and selecting “FEMS – Smoke Alarm Application” from the drop down menu.

As always, thank you for reading and for your support. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you or your part of the neighborhood. All the best and have a happy start to 2016,
