Friends and neighbors, I hope you’re enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and for teachers and parents, looking forward to the start of a great school year. While the Commission is officially in recess, it has been a busy month around 5C02. Here are some of the things I’ve been working on:
Creating a Better Environment Together Last week I met with Tommy Wells, not just a good friend and mentor, but the head of the District Department of the Environment. Our conversation covered a range of issues, from still water around CSX-owned tracks, to Ward 5’s spray booth problems, and to our underutilized green spaces.
Earlier today, Commissioner Deleon stood alongside DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier as they announced a new drug enforcement strategy on Monday.
